Asuene Participates in COP29 in Azerbaijan. Executive Officer and CPO Watase will take the stage as a panelist at the COP29 Japan Pavilion seminar hosted by the Ministry of the Environment.

Asuene will have Executive Officer and CPO Watase participate as part of the Green x Digital Consortium delegation at COP29 (the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change), taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22.

Additionally, on November 20, CPO Watase will speak at the Japan Pavilion seminar titled “ASEAN Climate-Related Information Disclosure: Promoting Transparency for SMEs Now and in the Future,” where he will engage in a panel discussion with policymakers from various countries.

At COP, held annually, key players in climate change—including governments, the United Nations, and global corporations—gather from around the world to discuss concrete measures to address global warming. As a member of the Green x Digital Consortium, we will participate in COP29 in Azerbaijan as part of the delegation.

At this year's COP29, our Executive Officer and CPO, Watase, will take the stage at the Japan Pavilion seminar hosted by the Ministry of the Environment. He will engage in a panel discussion on the theme “ASEAN Climate-Related Information Disclosure: Promoting Transparency for SMEs Now and in the Future.”

Through our participation in COP29, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of the diversity of values related to climate change and decarbonization across the globe, laying the groundwork for further business development. As an organization that supports companies tackling climate change and decarbonization on a global scale, we will share insights on challenges and areas for improvement with stakeholders worldwide.

Additionally, by leveraging our carbon accounting platform, "ASUENE," and our ESG evaluation cloud service, "ASUENE ESG," which helps visualize companies' efforts in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management, we will amplify the voices of companies actively pursuing decarbonization. We aim to deliver these insights to key players in climate change, including governments, the United Nations, and global corporations attending COP29, as we work to promote carbon neutrality on a global scale.

Globe: No unregistered SIMs in active use

Globe has been at the forefront of efforts to strictly implement and comply with the SIM Registration Act, ensuring that all SIMs currently in use are registered. Globe does not allow any customer to use an unregistered SIM. Under its current system, a new SIM is only activated once registered through Globe’s SIM registration platforms. “We designed our SIM Registration system in such a way that no SIM can be used on the network unless registered. Therefore, all active SIMs within our network are in our system. Even as we continue to enhance our SIM registration platform, we already have measures in place that defend against the illegal use of unregistered SIMs,” said Darius Delgado, Globe Vice President and Head of Consumer Mobile Business. Globe currently has 58.8 million mobile subscribers. Following the registration period from December 27, 2022 to July 30, 2023, which covered SIMs already in use before passage of the law, Globe deactivated over 30 million unregistered SIMs. Since
