CBS revives Financial Wellness Roadshow for Teachers


CBS China Bank Savings, the second largest thrift bank in the Philippines, is reviving its Financial Wellness Roadshow for Teachers with a Mindanao run and an expected 500 participants. The last time CBS sponsored free Financial Wellness Seminars for Teachers was in 2019, when a total of 21 sessions were held nationwide, including stops in the National Capital Region, Baguio, Cebu, Iloilo, Davao, and General Santos.


Led by CBS China Bank Savings Automatic Payroll Deduction Lending Group Head and First Vice President II Niel Jumawan, the 2024 edition of the Financial Wellness Roadshow will focus on refreshing teachers’ knowledge about debt management, financial goal setting, personal statement of assets and liabilities analysis, and saving strategies and techniques.


“We are grateful for the opportunity given to us by the Department of Education to service the financial needs of our modern-day heroes, our Department of Education teachers. This program is part of our efforts to give back to the community. We know our teachers are financially literate, but we also know that everyone needs a refresher course to update their personal financial strategies and techniques,” said Mr. Jumawan. “While we stand ready to provide for their financing needs, we also want to build each teacher’s capacity to grow their savings and achieve their financial goals independently.”


The roadshow will make three stops, Digos City, Davao City, and General Santos City. Jumawan shall also be touring CBS Mindanao Locations, including Kidapawan, Isulan, and Koronadal.

CBS ready for Brigada Eskwela 2024

 


CBS China Bank Savings, the second largest thrift bank in the Philippines, is backing the Department of Education’s Brigada Eskwela 2024. As part of this annual initiative aimed at kicking off the new school year with a bang, CBS will be present at multiple locations nationwide, providing school repairs and maintenance materials, school supplies for students, and school equipment.


CBS China Bank Savings Automatic Payroll Deduction Lending Group Head and First Vice President II Niel Jumawan adds, CBS stands ready for any new initiatives under the newly appointed Education Secretary, the Honorable Senator Sonny Angara. “We thank outgoing Education Secretary, the Honorable Vice President Sarah Duterte for her leadership and meaningful contributions throughout her stint at the helm of the Department of Education. We had the honor and privilege of supporting multiple initiatives under her watch, including the annual Brigada Eskwela and National Teacher’s Day events. Aside from the Brigada Eskwela activities, this year, CBS revived its Financial Wellness Roadshow for Teachers, designed as a refresher course with updated strategies for debt management, financial goal setting, and personal financial analysis. Some 500 participants are expected to benefit from the 2024 run in Mindanao from July 8 to 10, 2024. More sessions are currently being planned.
